Ernest Luke Corn, Sr., age 80, of Cumming, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015, after a brave battle with cancer. He was a life-long resident of Forsyth County and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He retired from General Motors in 2000, with 48 years of service. Ernest graduated from Cumming High School where he played basketball and his team won the State Championship. He loved to travel and spend time with his family. He was a member and Past Master of Matt Lodge #694 F&AM and received his 50-year apron. Ernest is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Bobbie Ann Galloway Corn; his parents, James and Eula Corn; brothers George, Weldon, Amon and Pierce Corn; sister, Bernice Corn Ivey; sisters-in-law, Kate Corn, Dean Corn and Doris Corn; brothers-in-law, Lendon (Duffy) Ivey and Eddie Galloway.
Survivors include his son, Ernest (Melissa) Corn, Jr., and daughter, Carla (Dennis) Floyd; grandchildren, Luke, Lacy and Eli Corn; sisters-in-law, Hazel Corn, Dorothy Weatherby and Hazel Galloway; brother-in-law, Paul Weatherby, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 30th, 3:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garry English and Rev. Larmon Barron.
The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept 29th, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Oak Grove Church Camp Fund, 5640 Oak Grove Circle, Cumming, GA 30028.
