Billie Sue Manning died on September 26, 2015, at the age of 78, on a rainy day in Lawrenceville, GA due to complications following a stroke.
Billie Sue was born on August 2, 1937 in McDonald, TN to her parents, Ira Casper and Dorothy Maud Hilliard. She married William Luther Manning, Jr. in 1967. They moved to Buford, GA where Billie and William (Bill) started a successful family business, Ace Auto Parts. She retired in 2007 and dedicated her remaining time to being a best friend to many and supportive grandmother to her grandchildren, as well as lending a supportive ear to anyone who needed some life advice without being judged.
Mrs. Manning was a patient and supportive wife and mother with a passion for reading and garage sales (she loved a good deal). Inspiring creativity, dedication, positivity, and leaving you with a smile were her life-long goals.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years William Luther Manning, Jr. of Buford, GA; her son and daughter in-law Tony and Tammy Manning of Lawrenceville, GA; her step-daughter Kim Parker and husband Benny Parker of Buford, GA; her sister Mary Alice Headley of Irvington, VA; and her three grandchildren, Lilith Katherine Manning, Zachary Parker and Jennifer Carter.
Per her wishes, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
