Linda Darlene Hizer Dempsey

          Mrs. Linda Darlene Hizer Dempsey, age 66 of Oakwood, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 at the residence of her son following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Rod Bell, Jr. will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 6 -8 pm at the funeral home. 

            Mrs. Dempsey was born July 24, 1949 in Logansport, Indiana to the late Harold Wesley Hizer and Esther Mae Slusser Hizer.  She was retired form Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and attended Maranatha Baptist Church.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William David Dempsey and her son, Eric Martin Dempsey.

            Mrs. Dempsey is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian Allen & Holly Dempsey of Gainesville, grandchildren, Haley Dempsey, Andrew Dempsey, Peyton Dempsey and Samuel Dempsey and two brothers and sisters.

            In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Society.
