Mr. Fred Bennett, age 91 of Maysville died Friday, September 18 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Bennett was born in Dacula, GA to the late, Cicero and Emma Peck Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a general laborer and was a member of Wilson’s Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bennett was also preceded in death by his wife, Latrelle Cody Bennett.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his daughters, Martha Prince (George) of Maysville, Linda Bloom (Harold) of Athens, and Trixie Whitlock (Ricky) of Nicholson; brother, Cicero Bennett, Jr. of Statesboro; grandchildren, George Prince, Jr. (Hope), Brandie Kent (Jason), Kristin and Cody Whitlock; great grandchildren, Victoria and Brittany Prince, MaKenzie and Wyatt Wilson; his beloved companion Fluffy.
Funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 21 at 2:00 PM from Wilson’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Elaine Standridge officiating with the interment following at Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 5-7 PM.
