Bessie Lou Stancil

Bessie Lou Stancil, age 78, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at her home with her loving family at her bedside.

Bessie was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, a retired seamstress, and was a member of Dewberry Baptist Church #2 in Hall County.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Clyde Brown and Lela Peck Brown and was also preceded in death by children, James M. Tuggle and Cindy Stancil; brothers, Hoyt, Johnny, Cecil Brown and an infant brother; sisters, Robbie Brown, Joyce Arnold, Edith Brown, and Vera Brown.

Bessie is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Anna Seabolt and James Shoffeitt; sons and daughter-in-law, Mike and Debbie Tuggle, and Bobby Tuggle, brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Joyce Brown, George and Tammy Brown, all of Dahlonega, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Larry Reed, Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Jamie Tuggle, Michael Tuggle, Chris Tuggle, Toby Tuggle, Jeremy Seabolt, Misty Caldwell, Heather Tuggle, and Jordan Shoffeitt; great-grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Kaden, Kai, Jesse, Jordan, Connor, Noah, Tesha, Christin, Christopher, Conner, and Laine. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Bessie are scheduled for 3 PM Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Saturday September 19, 2015 from 2 PM until 9 PM and again on Sunday from 10 AM until service time.
