Helen Ogletree Payne

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Helen Ogletree Payne, age 85, of Jefferson, who passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Mrs. Payne was born in Jefferson, a daughter to the late Bennie Vinson Ogletree and the late Ada Mae Mote Ogletree. Mrs. Payne was a Seamstress for Thomas Textile and was a Homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband, Alan C. Payne; son, Ronnie Lee Huckleby; brothers, Calvin and Benny Ogletree.

Survivors include children, Anthony Whitehead of Talmo, Judy Annette Medlin of Seneca, SC, Timothy Whitehead of Madison County, GA; sister, Emma Mae Webb of Maysville, brother, Joe Lee Ogletree of Jefferson, 4 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4-6pm at Evans Funeral Home and a private burial will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Mrs. Helen Payne.
