Martha Bates Jackson

Martha Bates Jackson, age 99, of Suwanee, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.  She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Fred Jackson; son, James Edmond Jackson; and daughter, Kathryn Stanfield.  She is survived by her children, Dorothy Parker Cole, Sugar Hill, GA, Doris and Kenneth Mauldin, Suwanee, GA, and Fred, Jr. and Kathi Jackson, Hartwell, GA; daughter-in-law, Kathy Jackson, Belcher, LA; twelve grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren; twenty great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mrs. Jackson was born on July 11, 1916, in Milton County, the daughter of Lemuel and Lillian Smith Bates.  She was the last remaining of the eight siblings of the Bates family.  She was a homemaker and member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church, Suwanee, GA where she was the oldest member.  Funeral services will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev.
