Carolyn S. Ellis, 77, of Gainesville passed away September 15, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A lifetime resident of Hall County, Mrs. Ellis was born on October 1, 1937 daughter of the late Lucius and Claudine Robinson Nix. She was employed for a number of years with the Warren Featherbone Company. She was a faithful member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church for 44 years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ellis and brother, Rev. W. Lamar Nix.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Scott Smith of Murrayville; son and daughter in law, Mike and Sandra Ellis of Gainesville; sister, Lucy Barker of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and James Truelove of Gainesville, Vicki and Danny Pressley of Gainesville; grandson, Jason Wilson of Gainesville; granddaughter, Kelly Ellis of Gainesville; grandsons, Casey Smith of Murrayville, Lane Smith of Murrayville; great grandsons, Aaron Manders of Gainesville, Carsyn Smith of Murrayville; caregiver, Brandy Tanner; special friends, Pud and Bennie Clark; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles and Lynda Ellis, Rev. Jimmy and Jean Ellis and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Buffington and Rev. Ricky Stone will officiate. Interment will be in Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
