Edward “Ed” R. Burns

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Edward “Ed” R. Burns, age 78 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Sunday, September 13, 2015.  Mr. Burns was born in Holyoak, Colorado the son of the late Ralph and Louisa Colvin Burns, attended Colorado State University, was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, former owner of several food companies and was retired from the U.S. Post Office.  Ed was a much loved husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed more than words can say.  In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded by a brother, Ernest Burns.

Survivors include his wife of forty - four years; Martha Anglin Burns of Jefferson, daughters; Eva Khattob and her husband Mohab of Bahrain, Launa Karasuno of Japan, and Misty Burns of Jefferson.  Grandchildren; Kyle and Kala Hubbard, Yesmeen, Omie and Tarek Khattob, and Enna and Ren Karasuno.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce, Georgia with Pastor Robin Self officiating.  The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:30 P.M. prior to the service at Evans Funeral Home.  Flowers are optional, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Jefferson, P.O.
