Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Willene Hayes Wallace of Cleveland, formerly of Clermont. Mrs. Wallace passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Gateway Memory Park, 84 Blvd St, Cleveland, Georgia 30528 with Rev. Steve Wallace officiating. Mrs. Wallace was born McDonough , Georgia on May 3, 1919 to the late Harrison Bartow Hayes and Lilla Iola Thaxton Hayes. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Matthew Mark (M.M.) Wallace; daughter, Marilyn Patricia Norton; brothers, Alfred Hayes, Frank H. Hayes, Henry T. Hayes; sisters , Naomi H. MInter, Mae Hayes, Josie H. Mayo and Faye H. Elliott.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Mark Stephen (Steve) and Debbie Wallace of Charlotte, NC; daughter, LeAnn Wallace of Clermont, GA; grandchildren, Mary Eleanor Wallace of Chicago, IL and Stephen Corson Wallace of Chattanooga, TN; sister in law, Ollie Hayes of Asheville, NC; caregivers and special friends at Gateway Health and Rehabilitation in Cleveland, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Mrs. Wallace’s memory to Reformed Theological Seminary, 5422 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS 39209 (earmarked to the RTS New York City campus)
