Hazel Leslie Gilreath Butler Christopher

Mrs. Hazel Leslie Gilreath Butler Christopher, age 84, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Friday, September 11, 2015.

Hazel was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. She was retired from Harris Calorific.

Hazel was the daughter of the late Marion and Golia Blackwell Gilreath and was also preceded in death by siblings, Treman Alma Gilreath, John and Janie Ward, Hubert and Eula Gilreath, Mark and Hattie Berry, Jewell and Faye Gilreath.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joe M. Christopher; Her son, Jimmy H. Butler, who is the son of the late Willie Butler; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and William Hoshaw; and her son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Linda Christopher; grandchildren, Chandra and Anthony Cline, Ira Seth and Harley Hoshaw; great-grandchildren, Brinley Cline and Daylin Cline; God daughter and son, Gene and Janet Butler; God grandchildren,  Sheree Jett and Kayla Free; step-great-grandchildren, Gracie Cline and Gabriel Draggoo, Elizabeth Warren, and a bunch of nieces and nephews; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Janie and Melvin Turner, Charles and Helen Cork, Bobbie Butler, Lorene B. Lee, and Dorothy Norton.

Funeral services for Hazel are scheduled for 2 PM Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Dr. George Burch will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 5 PM until 9 PM and again on Monday from 10 AM until service time.
