Thurmon W. Cochran, age 70, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Gold City Convalescent Center in Dahlonega, GA.
Thurmon was born in Gainesville, GA September 10, 1944 and had lived most of his life in the Lumpkin County area. He was an automotive body and paint technician and was of the Baptist faith.
He was the son of the late Vivan and Mary Lou Myers Cochran and was also preceded in death by brothers, Horace Cochran and Randol Cochran.
Thurmon is survived by sons, Thurmon Cochran Jr., Calvin Cochran, and Mitchell Cochran, all of Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eldon Cochran, Alabama, Ralph and Regina Cochran, Cleveland, GA, Lovurn Cochran, Dahlonega, GA, Ricky and Yvette Cochran, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Marty Talton, Gainesville, GA; his companion and friend, Diane Logan, Dahlonega, GA. A number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Thurmon are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
Rev. Glendon Williams will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Community Chapel Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.
The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 5 PM until 9 PM and again on Sunday from 10AM until service time.
