Jessica “Jessie Fay” Smallwood

        Ms. Jessica “Jessie Fay” Smallwood age 94 of Gillsville passed away on Thursday September 10, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday September 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow Dewberry Baptist Church #2 Cemetery. Reverend Darryl Womack, Reverend Milton Martin Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday September 11, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

            Ms. Smallwood was born on July 23, 1921 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late L.O. Smallwood and Era Helton Smallwood. She was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Henson, sister, Texie Clark, brothers, T.J. Smallwood, and Charles Smallwood.

            She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Cathy Henson of Gainesville,  grandchildren, Jennifer Kish, Daniel and Michael Henson, and Lesley Johnson , great-grandchildren, Stephen Kish, Alesiah Kish, Matthew Cevallos, sisters, Nell Brookshire, Janet Wiley, Almeda Allison all of Gainesville, brothers, John Smallwood, Rev. Howell Smallwood, Horace Smallwood all of Gainesville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
