Lonnie Wilburn Hamrick

Lonnie Wilburn Hamrick, 69, of Cumming, GA went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2015.  He is rejoicing and will forever be worshipping and praising his Savior. He was born on February 19, 1946 in Fulton County, GA to Totsie and Raymond Hamrick and was one of eleven children – 6 boys and 5 girls.  His sister, Brenda Adams predeceased him.

Lonnie was first and foremost a disciple of Jesus Christ.  His life and desires changed when he asked Christ into his heart and accepted him as his Lord and Savior in his bedroom on Waters Rd, Alpharetta, GA in 1983. 

He was well known for his sense of humor, his love of people, especially children and his generosity.  Lonnie was owner of H & H Plumbing, working in the plumbing industry for over 40 years until he retired this year.  If Lonnie counted you as his friend, you had a friend for life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lillie Fouts Hamrick of Cumming, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Gary Niebur of Milton, GA; granddaughters, Sarah Gail, Lily and Sophia – who are the love of his life.  He should receive the Best Papa Lifetime Award.  He is also survived by sisters, Barbara Long, Frances Hardy, Peggy Brumbelow, Sue Jenniges and Vickie Dispoto; brothers, Don Hamrick, Ray Hamrick, Randy Hamrick and Danny Hamrick; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2015 in the McDonald & Son Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, September, 11, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
