Mrs. Dortha Hulsey Prickett, age 79, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Friendship Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 pm Thursday, September 10, 2015 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lumpkin County with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Jamey Prickett and Reverend Steve McIntyre will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, September 09, 2015 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel at 989 Riverside Drive Gainesville, GA. Mrs. Prickett will lie in state at the church from 3:00 to 3:30 pm prior to the service.
Mrs. Prickett was bron on June 8, 1936 in Lumpkin County, Georgia, to the late J.C. Hulsey and Mandy Lou Grizzle Hulsey. She was a medical secretary for Dr. Hardman and Dr. McCrum and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lumpkin County. She taught Sunday school for many years at Hopewell Methodist Church and also St. Paul UMC.
Ms. Prickett is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Margaret Prickett of Clermont; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Joel Johnson of Tiger, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Nancy Hulsey of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Janice Hulsey of Cornelia; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
