James “Jim” Davis Dyer

Mr. James “Jim” Davis Dyer, age 74 of Oakwood, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

            Memorial services to be announced at a later date.

            Mr. Dyer was born April 18, 1941 in Tallulah Falls, Georgia to the late Charles Reeves Dyer and Lou Ellen Bingham Dyer.  He was retired from Circle K Convenience Store as a Store Manager and was a member of Joy Baptist Church.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia Thompson Dyer and his sister & brother-in-law, Reba & Earl “Smitty” Smith.

            Mr. Dyer is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, James “Jamey” & Misty Dyer of Oakwood and Irvin & Suzanne Canada of Clayton, Georgia, his son, Rusty Canada of Gainesville, Florida, his daughter, Kathy Canada of Danielsville, Georgia, 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, niece & her husband, Becky & Danny Flory of Clayton, Georgia, nephew, Ernie Smith of Clayton, Georgia and 5 great-nieces & nephews.

            In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you bestow a blessing on someone by buying their meal at any restaurant.
