Janie Louise Hollis Walker

Mrs. Janie Louise Hollis Walker, age 64, of Commerce, GA died Monday, September 7, 2015 at Athens Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Walker was born in Commerce to the late J.C. and Thelma Ewing Hollis.  She was a member of Galilee Christian Church and was retired from Alltel Corporation.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walker was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Sylvester Walker.

            Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughter, Donna Walker Strickland (Jason) of Commerce; sons, Phillup Walker of Commerce and Mark Walker of Talking Rock; sister, Ann Akins (Ben) of Ila; brothers, Steve Hollis (Wanda) of Jefferson and Tommy Hollis of Danielsville; grandchildren, Jake Strickland, Rhylee Strickland, McKenzie Walker Beavers (Charlie) and Starla Walker.

            Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Wednesday, September 9 at Galilee Christian Church with Mr. Tom Plank, Mr. Bryan LaRue and Mr. Nick Vipperman officiating.  Interment will follow in Cabin Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 5 to 8 PM.
