Roy Lee Pruitt age 84, of Cleveland passed away Friday September 4, 2015.
Mr. Pruitt was born in White County the son of the late Riley and Era Gilleland Pruitt. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Lou Fallscher, Jean Thomas and Cora Grizzle. Mr. Pruitt was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean War. He was a loving husband and father and was a member and served as a Deacon for many years at Cleveland Worship Center.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Eloise Turner Pruitt, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Carole and Don Hawkins, Brenda and Jeff Shelnut, all of Cleveland; grandchildren, Russ Thomas, Adam and Nako Shelnut, Kyle and Danielle Shelnut, Austin Shelnut; great grandchildren, Luca Shelnut, Liah Shelnut; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Bud Thomas, Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, R.L. and Cindy Pruitt, Commerce; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday September 7, 2015 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Marc Turner, Jeff Shelnut and Rev. Edward Hood will officiate. Interment will be in Gateway Memory Park.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
