Mrs. Melva Marie Ivester McCurry age 94 of 820 Collier Road, Toccoa passed away Thursday September 3, 2015 at the Oaks in Athens.
A daughter of the late Matthew and Minnie Lou Harrison Ivester, she was born on December 6, 1920 in Stephens County were she lived all her life. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. She retired from Coats and Clark with 44 years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald McCurry in 2014.
Survivors include a daughter Linda White of Athens, Georgia, two sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Dawne McCurry of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Anthony and Ann McCurry of Suwanee, Georgia, four grandchildren Jason White, Courtney White, Jennifer Warren and Brent McCurry, three great-grandchildren Jackson White, Hadleigh Warren and Amelia Warren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday September 6 at 2 P.M. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Roger Whiten officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Bob Massey officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Jason White, Dale Dickerson, Bryan Warren, Reeves Harrison, Wade Ivester and Carl Ivester.
