Susan Smith Simmons

Memorial services for Susan Smith Simmons age 51, of Cornelia will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2015, at 1:00 PM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Sunday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. 

Mrs. Simmons passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 following a brief illness. 

Born in Savannah on November 3, 1963, Mrs. Simmons was the daughter of Marie and Ted Sternhardt and the late William Smith. She was a graduate of Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service with a degree in Mortuary Science. Mrs. Simmons later graduated from North Georgia College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She was a registered nurse at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. 

Mrs. Simmons is preceded in death by her father William Smith and father in law Harold Simmons. 

Survivors include her husband Mark Simmons of Cornelia, mother and stepfather Marie and Ted Sternhardt of Cornelia, mother in law Ann Simmons of Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Linda Smith of Baldwin, mother-in-law Ann Simmons of Gainesville, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anita and Michael Harris of Cumming, nieces, nephews and their spouses Brittany and Josh Davidson of Cornelia, Coley and Amber Harris of Cumming, Kyle Harris of Cumming, Mikaela Harris of Athens, and Kyle Smith of Baldwin and great nephew Landyn Harris.
