Joseph Slater Bruce

Mr. Joseph Slater Bruce, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, went to be with his loving Heavenly Father in Heaven on August 31, 2015.

Joseph is survived by his wife and best, friend Holly Bruce.  Joe and Holly had been married for 36 years, and were married on October 15, 1978.  Joseph and Holly have three children, Matthew Bruce, Candice Burger, and Christa Hernandez.  Their spouses are Katie Bruce, Eric Burger and Joshua Hernandez.  Joseph and Holly also have two grandchildren, Jacob Bruce, and Banner Burger. Joseph is also survived by three siblings, two older brothers in Roy Bruce, Wayne Bruce, and one younger sister Evelyn Bruce. Roy Bruce’s spouse is Shirley Bruce.

Joseph will always be remembered for his unwavering faith in God, and Jesus Christ.  Some of his best qualities were loyalty, honesty, integrity, compassion, gracefulness, forgiving and trustworthiness.  He was a man who led by example, and always worked hard to provide for his family.  Joseph was a natural born leader and was always willing to help his fellow man.  He was a proud supporter of our men and women in the Armed Forces.

Joseph was also a big fan of the UGA Bulldogs football team, and loved watching football with his family. He was proud that all three of his children graduated from college, and were happily married.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren which he thought were greatest thing in the world.

Lastly, Joseph was deeply in love with his wife Holly Bruce.  She was his true love, partner in life and soul mate.  They enjoyed traveling together, enjoyed going to Disney World and spending as much time with their family.

Joseph will be deeply missed, and can now rest with his Heavenly Father in Heaven.
