Minnie Butler Moore

  Mrs. Minnie Butler Moore, age 100 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at her residence following a sudden illness.

            Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Phil Carpenter will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

            Mrs. Moore was born May 2, 1915 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Wiley Smith and Joanne Truelove Smith.  She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church.  Minnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, known to all as our “Special Grandmother”.  She was the last survivor of 6 generations and was loved by all who knew her.  Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband of 47 years and the father of her children, J. D. Butler, her second husband, William “Bill” Moore, her son, Carlis Butler and 14 brothers and sisters.

            Mrs. Moore is survived by her children, Charlotte & Larry Gunter of Royston, Georgia, Doris & Kenneth Byers of Daytona Beach, Florida, Deb & Randall Jones of Flowery Branch, Judy & Donny Joe Senter of Flowery Branch, Arnold D. & Rebecca Butler of Cleveland, Kenneth Butler & Catherine Martin of Gainesville and Earl Butler & Sherry Waldrip of Gainesville, 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Virdell Smallwood of Gainesville and special friends, Amery & Dollie Jackson of Warner Robbins, Georgia.
