Mattie Lee Crocker Snyder

Obituary Date: Tuesday, August 25, 2015

Mattie Lee Crocker Snyder, age 96, Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2015.

Mrs. Snyder was born on November 13, 1918 in Baldwin, Georgia to the late William Tyson and Artha Simmons Crocker. She attended Piedmont College. She was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church, and also a member of Cornelia Chapter #480 Order of The Eastern Star. She was affiliated with Cornelia Florist and A Rose Garden for 60 years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Snyder, Sr.; son, William O. Snyder; daughter, Patricia “Pat” Baxter; son-in-law, Steve Baxter; sister, Laverne Crocker; brothers M.J. Crocker, W.T. Crocker, Jr. and Grady Crocker.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest B. “Buck” Snyder, Jr. and Nellie, of Cornelia; Robert L. “Bobby” Snyder and Kay, of Southaven, MS; brothers, Otis Crocker, of Greenville, SC; Robert Crocker, of Liberty, SC.; Curtis Crocker, of Alabama; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel with Rev. Tommy Crocker officiating. Interment will follow in The Level Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
