Alvin Lloyd Plews

Mr. Alvin Lloyd Plews, age 80 of 300 Memorial Drive, Eastanollee, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at his residence.

A son of the late Andrew Lloyd and Clovis Haynes Plews, he was born August 12, 1935 in Johnson City, Tennessee having lived most of his life in Jonesboro and the last 20 years in Eastanollee.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a retired printer and a member of Eastanollee Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sara Wood and Sylvia Ginn.

Survivors include his best friend, Elaine Stowe Plews; daughter, Dawn Griggs and Steve East of Jacksonville, Florida; grandson, Blake Griggs; sister, Bobbye Hider of Stockbridge, Georgia.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 28, 2 O’clock PM at Eastanollee Baptist Church with The Reverend Ricky McFarlin officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 PM until 8 PM and Friday from noon until time to leave for the service.

Interment will be in the Eastanollee Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Alvin Lloyd Plews.
