Evelyn Blanche McClain English

Mrs. Evelyn Blanche McClain English, age 72 of Toccoa Georgia passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

A daughter of the late Curtis and Bertha Hood McClain, she was born September 2, 1942 in Toccoa, Georgia.  She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.  She worked for Wright Manufacturing for 26 years and after it closed worked at Shaw and Bosal.  She loved being a “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved shopping, her dog Scrappy and spending time with her loving husband Donald of 54 years.

She is survived by her husband Donald English of the home; daughter Donna English; granddaughters, Sheena Weaver and Shelly Rider; great-grandchildren, Griffin and Kaelynne Weaver and Vayda Wright; son-in-law, Johnny Rider; grandson-in-law, Stephen Weaver; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Carolyn Sellers and Shirley and Harold Lord; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Karen McClain; several nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 26 at 2 O’clock PM at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Stacey Penland and The Reverend Jewell Gaines officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Johnny Rider, Chris Thompson, Doug Westmoreland, Brian Paisley, Francisco Sanchez and Lane Goss.

The family will be at the home on Richardson Street and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 3 PM to 5 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the English family to help with the medical bills.

Interment will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Albert Hudson officiating.
