Orville Goettmann

Obituary Date: Thursday, August 20, 2015
Mr. Orville Edward Goettmann, age 85, of Demorest passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015.  Mr. Goettmann was born on July 13, 1930 in Anderson, IN. to the late Christian and Edith Talbert Goettmann.  Mr. Goettmann served his county with honor in the US Army retiring after 25 distinguished years of service at the rank of Master Sergeant.  He enjoyed fishing and spent many years fishing in tournaments.  Mr. Goettman will always be remembered for his strong will and as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Mr. Goettmann is preceded in death by his wife Harriett Adams Goettmann.  He is survived by his son, Cecil Bruce Goettmann, Idaho; sisters, Lavonne Kasischke, Yukipa, CA and Carolyn Allen (Emmett), Apopka, FL.; brothers, Bill Goettmann (Sally), Anderson IN. and Norman Goettman, Dayton OH.; granddaughter Lou Ann Quigley, Demorest, GA. as well as 10 other grandchildren; great grandchildren Amanda Smith, St. Simons, GA. and Matthew Quigley, Tignall GA., as well as numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and fishing buddies.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 5 until 7 PM.  Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 2 PM with the Rev. Maitland LaForce officiating.  Interment will be held at Nachoochee United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to Halcyon Hospice c/o 1435 Haw Creek Cir E Suite 402, Cumming, GA 30041 in memory of Papa G.
