Harry K. Wallace, 80, of Commerce passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Willow Wood Nursing Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend John Kinsey and Reverend Chris Porter will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Wallace was born on June 20, 1935 in Gainesville to the late Joseph E. Wallace and Ann Grindle Wallace. He was retired from Gold Kist where he worked as a Field Supervisor and he was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Wallace; sisters, Naomi Poole, Leola Garrison, Erma Sanders and Hilda Wheeler.
Mr. Wallace is survived by his son, Ricky Wallace; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Scott Porter of Maysville; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Debbie Wallace of Oakwood; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Ricky Gilstrap of Murrayville; grandchildren, April Strickland, Stephanie Hulsey, Kevin Gilstrap, Chris Porter, Amanda Hand, Christopher Suarez and Amy Suarez; great grandchildren, Eli and Ethan Parker, Haley Lynn Strickland, Hayden Hand, Joseph Gilstrap, Olivia and CJ Suarez; sister-in-law, Jean H. Wallace and a number of nieces and nephews.
