Funeral services for Barbara Jane Chambers Daniel, age 79, of Demorest will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Fairfield Baptist Church with Dr. Keith Allison officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Daniel died peacefully on Wednesday August 12, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Barbara fought bravely over the past year against an unrelenting brain tumor. During this time, she frequently called out to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are thankful today for her strong faith and for the knowledge that she is finally with Jesus in her heavenly home. Barbara attended Fairfield Baptist Church as a child and until her death. She enjoyed very much worshiping there and especially singing with the church choir.
Barbara was a devoted wife to Loyd (61 years) and always a loving mother to her children, Cynthia and Dale. Her D-I-L Dale always told her that she was the best mother-in-law anyone could every hope to have. She cherished all of her family... brothers, sisters, aunt and uncles and her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all.
Barbara was a quiet, classic southern lady, and always had a pleasant smile. Barbara was an excellent cook and loved gardening and working with her flowers. She diligently canned and shared the many vegetables that Loyd always grew. She was a most patient lady, always had a word of encouragement for those discouraged and never spoke ill of anyone.
After she and Loyd were married, they spent time in Kansas while Loyd served in the Air Force. They lived in Atlanta for 35 years before returning home to the Demorest area.
Survivors include her husband Loyd Daniel of Demorest, daughter Cynthia Daniel of Demorest, son and daughter in law Dale P. and Dale M. Daniel of Demorest, sisters Crete Ward of Cornelia, Roberta Hames (John) of Clarkesville, Gail Ivie (Glenn) of Clarkesville and Patricia Chambers of Demorest, brothers Bobby Chambers of Clarkesville, Bill Chambers (Vicki) of Demorest, Larry Chambers (Lakeeta) of Demorest and Ricky Chambers (Nora) of Lavonia, as well as an aunt, several uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 14, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
