Donald E. Heaton

Mr. Donald E. Heaton, age 80, of Hoschton passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at Peachtree Christian Hospice, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Mass will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2015 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with entombment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Father Eric Hill will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Heaton was born May 29, 1935 to the late Lester and Margaret Heaton in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania and served in the Army.  Mr. Heaton was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where he participated in the Newcomers Welcome Committee, Men’s Club and was the ministry leader of the Married Fellowship Ministry.  Mr. Heaton was also preceded in death by his son, Jeffery Heaton in 2002.

Mr. Heaton is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Heaton of Hoschton; children, Laurie & Paul Lawton of Broadalbin, New York, Mary Jo & Allen Shrader of  North Carolina, Donald Heaton of Saratoga, New York, Lori& Salvatore Battaglia of Dacula, Thomas & Danielle Plumadore of Flowery Branch and Lisa Bates of Hollywood, Florida; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-children; brother & sister-in-law, William & Alice Heaton of Cape Cod, Massachusetts; and several nieces & nephews.
