Herschel Mize Sr., 57, of Gainesville passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2015.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Mize was born on August 25, 1957 in Gainesville to William Floyd Mize and late Doris Jarrett Mize. He was retired from Cargill and of Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his mother; brother, Greg Mize and sister, Elizabeth Mize.

Mr. Mize is survived by his wife, Betty Davis Mize of Gainesville; father, William Floyd Mize of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Troy Butler of Gainesville; daughter and fiancé, Shameka Mize and Ricky Bledson of Gainesville; son, Herschel Mize Jr. of Gainesville; grandchildren, Cristavia Butler, Kiara Butler, Maya Butler, Shariyah Bledson, Aiden Bledson, Makenzie Bledson and a host of nieces, nephews and many close friends;  sisters, Janice Mize Lytle of Lula, Marcia Mize of Gainesville; brothers, Herbie Mize Sr. of Gainesville, Marvin Mize of Lula, Shawn Mize of Oakwood.
