Lavonia Meeks Wofford

Mrs. Lavonia Meeks Wofford age 83 of Gainesville passed away on Saturday August 01, 2015 at Autumn Breeze.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday August 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Mike Garner will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday August 03, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wofford was born on November 27, 1931 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Leonard Meeks and Virgie O’Shields Meeks.  She was employed first with Big Star Grocery, second was for several years where she worked at Lanier Park Hospital in Central Supply, and then later retired from Sam’s, and she attended Free Chapel Worship Center.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James (Jake) Wofford; brothers, Thomas and Clifton Meeks.

She is survived by her sister, Fay Olson of Gainesville, brother, George Meeks of Buford, brother, Charles “ Bobby” Meeks of Ellijay, and a number of nieces and nephews.
