Mr. William Clinton Ayers, age 89 of 1524 Mize Road of Toccoa was received into heaven on July 30, 2015 at Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late Isom and Bessie Stephenson Ayers, he was born on March 5, 1926 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Toccoa. He was veteran in the United States Navy having served in W.W. II. and a member of the Masonic Lodge 309. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church having served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He retired from Coats and Clark and enjoyed his retirement years with his beloved wife.
Survivors include his wife Audrey Richardson Ayers of the home, a son Dale Ayers of Toccoa, a daughter Gail Ayers Mann of Alpharetta, Georgia, two grandchildren Greg Mann of Alpharetta, Georgia and Melanie Mann Cristelli and her husband Dominic of Smyrna, Georgia, three great-grandchildren Anthony, Audrey and Avery Cristelli, one sister-in-law Shirley Richardson Ward, brother-in- law Ron and Linda Richardson as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday August 2, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Roger Elrod and the Reverend John Thomas officiating with interment to follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the home of Dale Ayers 1416 North Broad River Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. and on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Sunday.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Pat Ayers, Bill Ayers, David Bailey, Kyle Blackwell, Rocky Harding and Garrett Blackwell.
