Joseph Jude “Joe” Dumphy, 15, of Dawsonville passed away on Sunday, July 26.
Born June 10, 2000 in Dallas, Texas, Joe had lived in Forsyth County for the past 11 years. He was a rising sophomore at North Forsyth High School where he was a member of the varsity golf team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Joe was also a member of Chestatee Golf Club and played on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. He was truly a Christian at heart, as he put his heart and soul into everything he did with dedication and an incredible work ethic. Even in his death, Joe was able to make an impact with the donation of five of his organs to others in need so that they may live. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Joseph Dumphy.
Surviving are his parents, Charles F. “Charley” and Deborah A. “Deb” Dumphy, Dawsonville; sister, Olivia Dumphy, Dawsonville; and grandparents, Elizabeth A. “Betsy” Dumphy, Cumming, Janice Nixon, Plymouth, MA, Charles and Patti Michaud, Fall River MA.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31 at 11 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming. Fr. Frank Richardson and Fr. Charles Dumphy will officiate. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.
The Family will receive friends Thursday, July 30 from 5 to 8 PM at Browns Bridge Church in Cumming. Enter through the back entrance, as the wake will be held in “The Attic” area used for Transit.
