Louise Thomas Beard, age 81, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mardell Clark Thomas; and brother, Charles Thomas. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Hubert A. Beard, Buford, GA; children, Vickie and Larry Grindle, Buford, GA, Crissie and Ben Gravitt, Buford, GA, Susan Willis, Louisburg, KS, and Hugh Beard, Hoschton, GA; three grandchildren, Benny Gravitt, Phillip Beard and Keyerra Tuck; brother, Donald Thomas, Gainesville, GA; sisters-in-law, Louise Beard Greeson, Buford, GA, Edna Beard, Flowery Branch, GA and Cora Thomas, Ellijay, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Beard was born June 20, 1934 in Buford, GA. She was a graduate of Buford High School. She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethany Baptist Church a/k/a Lanier Island Baptist Church in Buford, GA. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
