Gary Scarborough

Gary Griggs Scarborough passed away at the age of 77 on July 18, 2015 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a battle with lung disease.

Mr. Scarborough was born and raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  He served in the US Coast Guard and retired from the military in October of 1993.  After extensive traveling, he settled in Dahlonega, GA in 2007.

Mr. Scarborough is survived by his partner of 13 years, Mr. Harry Shubert; sister-in-law, Iva Beacham Scarborough of Rutherfordton, NC; two nieces, Lillie Scarborough Hussey of Rutherfordton, NC and Millie Scarborough of Powells Point, NC; two nephews, Stephen Scarborough of Carthage, MO and Buddy Scarborough of Powells Point, NC.

Mr. Scarborough was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Leona Scarborough as well as three brothers, Donovan “Donnie” Scarborough, Lewis “Tink” Scarborough and Ronald “Ronnie” Scarborough.  Gary was also preceded in death by his beloved dog, Buck.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
