Jacqueline Brooks Shirley

Mrs. Jacqueline Brooks Shirley, age 81, of Shirley Road, Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her residence.         

Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, July 25, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church. Reverend Dr. Roe Callaway will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:45 until 2:45 pm in Swetenburg Hall at First Presbyterian Church prior to the service.         

Mrs. Shirley was born July 31, 1933, to the late Calvin and Eleanor Brooks. Mrs. Shirley was a graduate of Gainesville High School. She worked at Sears and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville.        

Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Sutton Lewis Shirley, Jr. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Tessa Shirley of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Raymond Ozmore of Charlotte, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Betty Brooks of Calhoun; brother and sister-in-law, Cliff and Anne Chambers of Sandestin, FL; granddaughter, Jacqueline E. Shirley of Athens; grandson, Sutton L. Shirley IV of Gainesville; granddaughter, Reilly Anne Shirley of Gainesville; informally adopted granddaughter, Elizabeth J. Williams of Gainesville; and great-grandchildren, Kyler and Brinna Shirley.

In lieu of flowers, the family would life for donations to be made to the BASIC Sunday School Class Mission Fund, c/o First Presbyterian Church, 800 South Enota Drive NE, Gainesville, Georgia 30506.
