Clell Depew

Mr. Clell Depew, age 70, of Portage, Indiana passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born August 9, 1944 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Chauncey M. and Lola (Wise) Depew.  Clell was a millwright/superintendent for Calumet Construction.  He was an US Army veteran that served during the Vietnam Era.  Clell enjoyed traveling and refitting his bus for that purpose.  On August 11, 2007 he married his wife, Linda Huttle Depew.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Huttle Depew of Portage, Indiana; four children, Robert (Jill) Depew of Burnes Harbor, Indiana, Richard (Emily) Depew of Gainesville; Rachel (Patrick) Hallander of McDonough, and Michael (Terra) Depew of Coldwater, Michigan; three stepchildren, Brian (Stase) Ambler of Chesterton, Indiana, Kent (Peggy) Ambler of Greenville, South Carolina, and Daniel (Penny) Ambler of Portage, Indiana; 16 grandchildren, Robert Jr., Robin, Rebecca, Austen, Cadence, Grant, Evan, Avery, Caleb, Stella, Cassie, Sadie, Madalin, Sean, Megan and Jon; one great-granchild, Steven; brother, Jack (Ann) Depew of Kodack, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

Clell was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Depew; parents; two sisters, Mildred West and Gaynelle Ottinger; and brother, Jay Depew.

Funeral Services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue Portage, Indiana with Rev. Kendall Nickell officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.  On-line condolences may be submitted atwww.reesfuneralhomes.com. 

Local Services will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2015 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
