Marion F. Shirley, Sr., 94, of Dawsonville passed away Friday July 10, 2015 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a short illness.
Born September 26, 1920 in Alpharetta to the late Wade Elmer and Annie Mae Shirley, he lived most of his life in Atlanta. Mr. Shirley was a long time manager for Raymond Parks and retired from Northside Drive Liquor Store after over 50 years of service. A U. S. Navy veteran, he was one of the last living survivors of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Louise Parks Shirley and several sisters and brothers.
Surviving are his sons and daughter in law, M. Franklin “Frank”, Jr. and Donna Shirley, Dawsonville, Dr. Timothy W. Shirley, Sun City Center, FL.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 14, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery.
