Nathaniel (Nat) E. Ashe, age 86, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at Morningside Assisted Living.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville. Reverend Bruce Fields will officiate.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the funeral home. The family requests the Anglers Sunday School Class serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Ashe was born December 17, 1928 in Hall County, the son of the late Vader M. Ashe and Ethel White Ashe. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville since 1962. He was the founder of Blue Ridge Grain and Marketing Inc. Prior to forming his own company, he had served in management of two poultry companies since 1952. Some of the positions he held were Trustee of Gainesville Midland Railroad, State Vice-President of Southeastern Poultry and Egg Federation, Charter President of Georgia Feed Council, Chairman of the Gainesville College Foundation Trustees, Chairman of the Georgia Poultry Park Committee, Charter President of the Gainesville Swim Association, and Life Member of the Poultry Leaders Round Table.
Mr. Ashe was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Dan Warren Ashe and sister, Ginny Cook.
Survivors include daughters, Sharon Peck of St. Simons Island, GA; Lynne Ashe of Stone Mountain, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Patti and Kevin Brown of Clermont, GA; daughter-in-law, Carol Williams of Gainesville; grandchildren, Lori Peck Shindler, Katlyn Ashe, Robert Ashe, Alyssa Brown and Chelsea Brown; and great-granddaughter, Lauren Shindler.
