Charles Auston Vandergrift

Charles Auston Vandergrift, 82, of Cumming, GA, formerly of Remlap, AL, passed away peacefully at Embracing Hospice on July 16, 2015. Mr. Vandergrift retired from Southern Precision. He was a member of Mountain View Church of Christ and formerly a member of Clay Church of Christ. He enjoyed raising goats, rabbits, horses, cows and fish.

He is preceded in death by his parents William Henry “Will” and Elizabeth “Maw” Vandergrift and sisters, Daff Cox and Bertie Lee Mize.

Mr. Vandergrift is survived by his wife, Harvene Allen Vandergrift of Cumming, son, Jason Vandergrift (Laurie) of Cumming, grandchildren, Elizabeth Vandergrift and Joseph Vandergrift, both of Cumming; brother, Jerry Cox (Dymple) of Tennessee, and several other friends and family members.

Bro. Larry Rouse will officiate funeral services on Saturday, July 18, 2015, 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Lemley Funeral Home with burial following at Green’s Chapel Cemetery in Cleveland, AL. Mr. Vandergrift will lie in state at Lemley Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of service.
