Sidney Rowan Brangham, age 83 of Cleveland passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Sidney was born in Huntington W.V. to the late Waldie and Nelle Lanthorne Brangham on August 1, 1931. He was the owner and operator of his own insurance agency for a number of years as well as being a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary being involved in search and rescue and helping stranded boaters in the Santa Monica Bay. Following his retirement in 1995 he and his wife traveled extensively through all 50 states. After moving to White County in 1995 he became a very faithful member St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church. He will always be remembered for his love of reading to the children at school, and for always helping others, expecting nothing in return. One of the highlights of Sidney’s life was helping others face and overcome their addictions. Later in life Sidney would suffer from macular degeneration but remained an avid bowler and never missed a morning where he sent out an email devotional.
Sidney is survived by his wife of 65 years, June Brangham, Cleveland; daughter and son in law, Alison and Chris Nonnemaker, Cleveland; grandchildren, Brandon and Mallory Nonnemaker, Emily Rose Nonnemaker, Sean Nonnemaker and Wendy Nagy; great grandchildren, Harper Rowan Nonnemaker, Fletcher Alan Nonnemaker, and Finley Brandt Nonnemaker.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10 AM with Father Fabio A. Alvarez officiating. With a reception to follow in the social hall of St Paul The Apostle Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Foundation for Junior Blind c/o 5300 Angeles Vista Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90043.
