Madge Ashworth Gailey

Madge Ashworth Gailey, age 78, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Tommy Gailey; parents, J.C. and Vivian Davis Ashworth; brother, J.C. Ashworth, Jr.; and sister, Margaret Ashworth Liddell. She is survived by her daughter, Machell Gailey Black; son-in-law, Clyde Black, Buford, GA; granddaughters, Kallie Black and Kinsey Black; Niece, Tyler and Ron Thrasher, Buford, GA; nephew, Ken and Jovee Liddell; aunt, Grace Davis Higgins, Buford, GA; great nieces, great nephews, and cousins; and brothers-in law and sisters-in-law of the Gailey family. Mrs. Gailey was born March 17, 1937. She was born in Buford, where she was a lifelong resident. She attended Sugar Hill School. She was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Doraville after 30 years of service. She was a member of U.A.W. Local 10, and was also a member of Buford Church of God. Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Lamar Hansard and Rev. David Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., as well as from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
