Miriam Louise Gordon Adams

Miriam Louise Gordon Adams, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday July 7, 2015 at her home.

Born March 24, 1930 to the late Warren and Ellen Gordon, Miriam was active in community and civic affairs for many years. She served as president of her children’s PTA and president of the Junior Women’s Club of East Point Georgia. She was a long time secretary to the mayor of East Point and also worked at Cluett Peabody for the head of security. Miriam was a long time member of Dogwood Hills Baptist Church and First Baptist Church both of East Point. She most currently was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Also preceding Mrs. Adams in death are her brother, Fred Gordon and sister, Sarah Ellen Gordon Sousa.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Walter E. Adams, children Pamela A. Ison-Glover (Tom), Walter E. Adams, Jr. “Chip” (Louise), grandson Robert B. Ison (Danielle), and sister Mae Jo Bowman.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday August 9, 2015 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Dawsonville, 900 Highway 9 North, Dawsonville, GA 30534. Dr. Jim Gaines will officiate.
