Willie Nell Brown, age 100, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Friendship Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Brown was born on April 15, 1915, in Cleveland, GA, to the late Emory and Florence Quinn Freeman. She worked as a knitter for Wilco Hosiery and attended the Cleveland Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wiley Brown; brothers and sisters, Felton Freeman, Elizabeth Lee, Albert Freeman, Scott Freeman, Evelyn Copeland, Felix Freeman, and Dorothy Thurmond.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, James and Regina Brown, Sautee; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Tommy Cowart, Cleveland; step-daughter, Hazel Brown Chipps, Hiawassee; grandchildren, Jason and Jeanie Brown, Jennifer and Ronald Black, Jeffery and Johnnie Sue Cowart, Leslie and Mark Hughes; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Doug Merck and the Rev. Marc Turner will officiate. Interment will follow at Gateway Memory Park.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
