Rachel Montree Martin

Rachel Montree Martin, age 84 of Cumming, passed away on Friday, July  3, 2015. She was with The Forsyth County Board of Education for 30 years retiring as a secretary at Sawnee Elementary School. Montree was a member of Cumming Second Baptist Church for 53 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Emory and Lessie Hansard, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, great granddaughter, Audrey Lynn Martin.

She was the loving wife of John L. "J.L." Martin for 66 years; the precious mother of son and daughter-in-law, Troyce and Sarah Martin, daughters, Joy Howard and Penny Martin; grandchildren, Jon (Amy) Howard, Shane (Nikki) Martin, Jill Howard Wall, James Pruitt, Sirena Pruitt, Nick (Becky) Martin, Kaymon (Mark) Nix; great grandchildren, Dalton, Cooper, Gus, Jud, Hunter, Isaac, Kendal, Easton, Kade and Annabelle Montree; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and other relatives, friends along with the 49ers also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6th at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dusty Mathis, Rev. Harold Bottoms,  Rev. Ruel Martin and Rev. Talmadge Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Monday from 12:00 noon until hour of the service.
