Billy J. Marr

Billy J. Marr, age 78, of Suches, GA and formerly of the Mt. Moriah Community of Hoschton, GA passed away on Friday, July 3, 2015. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Wesley Marr; and parents, Rev. Walter and Ollie Marr. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Marie Sloan Marr, Suches, GA; children, Ricky and Mao Marr, Dacula, GA and Renee and Chris Montgomery, Winder, GA; grandchild, Christy and Andy Wright; great grandchild, Liam Wright; sisters and brother-in-law, Lois Marr Wood, Buford, GA, Dot Marr Barnett, Pendergrass, GA, Louise and John Gibson, Lincolnton, GA and Faye Page, Athens, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Marr was born September 15, 1936 in Winder, GA. He received his education at Braselton High School. He was a veteran of the National Guard. He was a retired truck driver from Gooch Trucking Company in Blairsville, GA. He was a member of the Winder Motorcycle Club and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Auburn, GA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Sammy Everett and Rev. Johnny Wright officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers and assemble at the church at 1:30 p.m.: Ray Vaughan, Tommy Blackstock, Terrell Sloan, John Gibson, Bill Green and Robert Wall. There will be a viewing and visitation for family and friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
