Roy Alexander Fitzgerald

Mr. Roy Alexander Fitzgerald age 88 of 178 Turner Road, Eastanollee passed away Thursday June 2, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Atlanta.

A son of the late Alexander and Minnie Sloan Fitzgerald, he was born on February 2, 1927 in Anderson County, South Carolina having lived most of his life in Stephens County. He was retired veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the Korean War and Vietnam War, retired from Coca-Cola with many years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the V.F.W. and D.A.V. He is preceded in death by his wife Inez McIntyre Fitzgerald in 2001.

Survivors include one son Dwayne Fitzgerald of Martin, his companion and care giver Marie Westmoreland, a grand-daughter Allison Fitzgerald of Palmetto, Georgia, one brother Dillard Fitzgerald of Gainesville, Georgia, two sisters Barbara Jean Holland of Toccoa and Lois Kastner of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday July 5, 2015 at 2 P.M. the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Ray Bohannon officiating. The family will be at the home of Dwayne Fitzgerald 2324 Tom’s Creek Road and will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens with military honors by the United States Air Force.
