Mrs. Frances Norton Lanier, age 73 of 3389 Huntwood Court, Decatur, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Fountainview Center, Atlanta, Georgia.
A daughter of the late Jim and Annie Sue Slaton Norton, she was born June 3, 1942 in Stephens County, Georgia having lived a greater part of her life in Dekalb County. She was a 1960 graduate of Toccoa High School, a receptionist for Hicks, Maloof and Campbell Law Firm in Atlanta and a member of Heritage Hill Baptist Church in Decatur.
Survivors include her husband of the home, Fleming Lanier; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and James Needham of Buford, Georgia, Patricia Lanier and Robert Quinton of Atlanta, Georgia and Tammatha and Matthew Mersereau of McDonough, Georgia; five grandchildren, James Joseph, Sidney Patricia, Mattison Lanier, Matthew Fleming and Jackson Arthur.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 1, 2 O’clock PM at Toccoa Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Joe Hughes and The Reverend Louise McCurry officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, J.J. Needham, Matthew Mersereau, Jeff Lanier, Robert Quinton, James Needham and Matt Mersereau.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 PM to 8 PM and Wednesday, noon until 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Arbor Respite, P.O. Box 2127, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046 in memory of Mrs. Frances Norton Lanier.
Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Frances Norton Lanier.
