Dustus William Gowan, Jr

Obituary Date: Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Dustus William Gowan, Jr., 75, of Cleveland passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at his residence following a tractor accident.

                Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Ken Joslin will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

                Mr. Gowan was born on May 27, 1940 in Gainesville to the late Dustus William Gowan, Sr. and Hazel Ann Tench Gowan. He was retired from the City of Gainesville Public Works Department and was a member of Life Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Gowan; brother, Jimmy Gowan; sisters, Sue Roberts and Aloma O’Neil.

                Mr. Gowan is survived by his son, Roger Gowan of Cleveland; daughter, Regina Gowan of Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Damon and Susan Gowan of Murrayville; grandchildren, Brannon and Lily Gowan, Emma Gowan, T.J. Merritt; Matt and Amber Merritt, Wyatt and Emaline Gowan; brother, Lamar Gowan of Rome, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Sequoya and Sherrie Gowan of Rome, GA; sister, Tina Bunch of Gainesville and a number of nieces and nephews.
