Ronald D. “Ron” McKinney

Ronald D. “Ron” McKinney, age 62, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015.

He is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Joanna L. McKinney, Lawrenceville, GA; children, Jeremy McKinney, Cumming, GA and Gregory McKinney, Winder, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Patricia McKinney, Ashland City, TN; nieces and nephews, Susan and Aaron Ellis, Muscle Shoals, AL and Christie and Patrick McKinna, Smyrna, GA; nephew, Matthew McKinney, Little Rock, AR; great nephews, Trace Ellis, Henry McKinna and Brody Ellis; great nieces, Izabella Ellis and Lilie McKinna; and special cousin, Elizabeth Ezzell Langley, Nashville, TN; and several cousins.

Mr. McKinney was born June 24, 1952 in Red Bay, AL. He was a 1970 graduate of Muscle Shoals High School and a 1974 graduate of the University of North Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree. He was employed with Porex Corporation in Fairburn, GA. He was an avid gardener, jogger, Alabama Football Fan and Atlanta Braves Fan.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Hagood officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society.
